I hope you didn’t come here expecting to find someone who exercises 23 hours a day and only drinks green smoothies. If you did, I’m sorry but you took a wrong turn in cyberspace.
But if you came here hoping to find someone who has been where you are, who understands what it is to be desperate, who knows how hard it can be to change unhealthy habits, and who gets a kick out of encouraging you to become the healthiest version of you, then welcome! We are going to be great friends!
I wasn’t always on a quest for health. For much of my life I was that skinny girl who ate anything she wanted, but mostly ate junk, and felt like junk too. But the year I turned 41, I got a big wake-up call.
I was an RN working 12-hour night shifts in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, homeschooling my two children, teaching three writing classes, grading 30+ papers per week, serving in my church, and I was a coupon queen who shopped in six different stores.
That was the year my body forgot how to sleep.
That was the year my hormones went berserk.
That was the year I went to health hell.
And I’ve been climbing out of that pit, with God’s help, for many painfully long years.
My healing is a work in progress. God knew that if He did a miracle and provided instant healing, I’d go right back to my crazy ways and get sick again. Instead, He has taken me on a journey, one of learning to depend on Him—for everything!
I’ve learned a lot about health and wellness, and even became a certified health coach, but the one thing that has brought me the most healing is building my relationship with the Lord. That is the core of everything I share on this blog.
God is concerned about every aspect of our lives—spirit, soul, body, and lifestyle. He’s spiritual, but He’s also practical. My goal is to simply be a conduit, sharing with you what He teaches me. I want to be real, authentic, and transparent enough that you see beyond me and my words, to understand what He is speaking to you personally.
I prayed you would find your way here and I continue to pray that the Lord will encourage and help you through the words of this blog. Take heart, my friend, you are dearly loved by God and you are not without hope. The Lord wants to meet you right where you are and give you a life worth living—a life where you are healthy in every way!
Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2
