Daybook Entry- November 9,2009

Because my extended family has threatened bodily harm if I don’t post something and because I’ve been told it isn’t wise to suggest you might be losing your mind and then not post again for over a month, I’m participating in the Daybook today.

In case you’re wondering, I spend most of the little blogging time that I have at my writing blog. I’m still deciding what to do with this blog and often feel that the stream has run dry. If anyone has any suggestions for what you’d like to see here, I’m all ears.

Outside my window… sunny skies and leaves that look more brown than beautiful these days. I have no idea the temperature. Yesterday it was sunny and 70s, hardly an autumn day.

I am thinking… about all that needs to be done this week. It’s Monday, what else would I be thinking?

I am thankful for… a weekend of rest, even if it didn’t involve much sleep. I didn’t go to church yesterday or to Bible Study last week. Before you mark me as a heathen, I had a really bad week of insomnia and could barely function mentally or otherwise. The fuse was short and so was the attention span. Thankfully, I slept fairly well last night and feel a bit better today.

I am wearing… the usual Monday morning attire: robe, slippers, pjs.

I am reading… several books at once, Bird by Bird, A Novel in a Year, 48 Days to the Work You Love.

I am praying… for an end to this recurring insomnia. I’m asking God for wisdom as to what to do on my end and trusting Him to handle His end.

I am remembering… that I need to tell you what happened when I attempted to sell all the living room furniture. Some sold, some didn’t. I would have taken the rest to Goodwill, but hubby thought we better keep it until we get more, which I hope will be sooner rather than later because it’s quite an uncomfortable arrangement at present.

From the learning rooms… The kids are unhappy with their history curriculums- too preachy. I don’t know if I’ll be able to switch my daughter’s, but I’m probably going to switch to another for my son.

I am hearing… the hum of the furnace- must be cold outside, my husband scraping the fork on his breakfast plate, a muffled newscaster on the TV, the occasional kid getting ready to face the day.

A few plans for the rest of the week… Get my editing business in order and add a section about it on my writing blog. Get caught up on laundry and other things that were left undone due to fatigue from…insomnia.

I am looking forward to… A visit from Aunt Ellen.

A picture thought…

DSC01061I keep these stones in my office. Whenever I’m feeling down, I read them to cheer me up and remind me how I need to live my life. They say things like: pray, laugh, love, peace, faith, hope, imagine and relax.

I enjoyed your daybook. I hope you will continue with us. I have had insomnia all my life. I go sometimes two nights without sleep but sleep well the third night. I hope you have seen a doctor about yours. I like your stones. That's a great idea. I hope you get some rest this week. Doylene
