You’ll Think I’ve Lost My Mind

I’ve felt it coming on for a long time.

I’ve sensed it, but denied it would actually happen.

I convinced myself that surely I’d never really do it.

But yesterday…

It happened…

I snapped….

I looked around my house and decided that everything I didn’t love would be sold in a yard sale.

This Saturday I’m selling every stick of furniture from my living room minus one antiquish table that I especially love.

I guess we’ll sit on pillows for a while.

I have my eye on the kitchen table and chairs too so they best be on good behavior or we’ll be eating meals standing at the counters for a while.

This stuff that I don’t even like was mentally weighing me down so it’s leaving.

This is actually a huge step of faith.

But I’m ready to take it.

I’m ready to have a house that I love and not just one I tolerate.

I can’t wait to show pictures of my newly painted house and new furniture…

Whenever that might be.

In the mean time, I’ll take pictures of us sitting on pillows.

Awesome idea!! I would love to do that with some of our old, nasty furniture, except I think it would be a long time before we could afford a couch that I love! :) You'll have to let us know how it goes!!

Good idea! I did something similar a few years ago but I did it gradually. Good luck with the garage sale!

lol, I got a visual of you all sitting on pillows and standing at the counters eating.
I have slowly but surely taken the things out that I hate because it WILL weigh you down! I STILL dearly love our beachy bedroom redo that I am STILL trying to finish. ONE DAY I will get it done. Right now I am pretty busy with life though. My sis was in the hospt. for 2 weeks and then a ver special cousin of ours passed way and now in the morning I have to take my sis to the hospt. for an out patient procedure they have to do to get the stent out and also try to get the kidney stone out. Will you please pray all goes very well and there is NO complications and they get that kidney stone out of her? I sure would appreciate you all praying with me about it. It would make me feel much better. She is the ONLY one I have and I'd like to have her around for many many more years.
Anyway you gave me a much needed chuckle with this post! BUT GOOD FOR YOU!!!! :)

How Oriental of you, Bo! By the way, will you all be sleeping in sleeping bags...like a camp, only in the living room?

I'm cheering you on, Bo! You are right, that is a huge step of faith. But I think it is an important one! Can't wait to see if your table and chairs make the cut :)

What a freeing decision! I'm so proud of you! We did this when we moved to our new house in August of this year. And, we sat in lawn chairs for several weeks (months!) until we picked and ordered the furniture that we truly wanted. Now we LOVE it. We have a sense of peace when we are sitting in our den and kitchen.

It will be worth it in the long run. (but a bit stressful for now!)
