I wasn't going to participate in all of the Christmas decorating sprees in blogland, but then it dawned on me that this is the first time we've been home for Christmas in years and we actually have decorations up so why not show them off in bloggyland?
For more beautiful home tours visit Boo Mama, Julia at Hooked on Houses and my sweet bloggy friend Rhoda at Southern Hospitality.
The tree: This is our Jesus tree. The picture doesn't do it justice, but it focuses entirely on the Christmas story. And it has white lights- a first for me as I'm all about colored lights, but I'm liking them pretty well on this tree. Don't those lovely hanging cords add so much to the beauty?
This is the angel on top of the tree announcing the good news that Messiah is born.
The stockings are hung by the chimney with care thanks to my daughter's handiwork. In case you can't tell, the stocking holders spell "peace".
Pretty tins:
The nativity tells the story of Jesus' birth, again thanks to my daughter.
Finally, this is the gingerbread house that my daughter made (do I detect a theme here?). It's not actually with us, but was a gift to my aunt on Thanksgiving.
If I wasn't so lax and lazy I'd get up and take a picture of the front door. Just imagine fluffy gingerbread men with a welcome sign. Good enough.
Thanks for visiting our home for the holidays!

Thank you so much for such a delightful tour of your home, everything looks so beautifully decorated for Christmas:-) That gingerbread house reminded me of the ones I use to make when my boys were little:-) Merry Christmas to you and yours! xo
Merry Christmas! Your house looks great.
Hello, Bonita!!!
Thanks for visiting my open house.
I have not made it to ALL the stops yet, but decided to start tonight with those who had been to mine!!!
I LOVE your gingerbread house. I've never done one.
I'm also wondering where you are in NC???? We used to live in Kernersville "back in the day"
Did you happen to notice my Moravian Star candle holders on the dining room table? Those were given to us when we lived in NC.
Hope to visit with you again.
Bonita, thanks for coming by my Christmas party & sharing your home. It's so cozy and warm and I can just feel the love in that nativity and tree. You're a blessing to a lot of people, you know?! So glad to have gotten to know you this year too.
I just had to stop by and say hi - for one, you have the same name as my mother. :)
Your Jesus tree is beautiful - I love the fact that it points to the true meaning of Christmas.
Your home is lovely - it was nice meeting you! Merry Christmas!
What lovely decorations you have. I just love all of them but especially your Jesus tree. It's just beautiful. I hope you and your family have a very blessed and joyful Christmas
I love Gingerbread houses and Gingerbread men. Your house is delightful. If it were here, it would not last either. I have an uncontrollable craving for M and Ms.
Merry Christmas.
Isn't it great when you can turn over the decorating to your daughter? I'm finding that out, too, this year, as CJ has taken the lead on all decorating (except for those places too high to reach or ornaments too fragile to hold). Problem with CJ is that she is so tradition-bent that we can't change anything we have ever done about decorating!!
I "broke the rule" and put a tree in the kitchen to hang our Christmas cards on (with clothespins, of all things....I love it!).
Kudos to your daughter and thanks for the tour!
Hi, Im so proud of my niece and she did a great job with Christmas ...Merry Christmas to you, all!
With love, Suzanne
Your angel looks beautiful on top of the Christmas tree. Love the gingerbread house too.
everything is beautiful! i love the gingerbread house!
I love the idea of a Jesus tree. Nice job decorating - thanks for sharing. And also, thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment on my blog!
I guess evergreen loving minds think alike...our mantles match! Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the Christmas Devotions! Wow, I needed that today! :-)
PS...I see we are fellow homeschoolers as well!
By the way....forgot to mention that that daughter of yours has some mad gingerbread house skills! ;-)My kids made theirs with grandma on date night one night and well, if you glance at my last wordless WED you can see that mine are obviously either lacking in building skills or abundant in demolition skills....not sure which.
That is amazing....small world isn't it? We lived right in Lee for about a year...my husband went to the Culinary Institute of America and then we got married and moved to Lee where he was a chef at "Wheatleigh" which is a 5 star hotel and restaurant in Lenox...I worked in Stockbridge at a Travel Agency. We LOVED LOVED LOVED it there but there were not a lot of job choices that offered good pay and benefits for a family...he was hired as a manager for Olive Garden so we then moved over to New York...and that has taken us on our journeys to TN...he is now Director for them over the state...we were actually married right there at the Stockbridge Bowl...which I believe part of is in Lenox. We have often times said we would love to retire to the Berkshires but we are getting older and more arthritic and I am just not sure now I could handle that kind of winter again....ahhhh so nice reminiscing about that place....tell your husband we love it!
I just love your tree Bonita! I love the theme of the Birth too! I am writing that one down. Everything is just beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
Bonita! I love all your beautiful decorations, especially your Jesus tree. I am also impressed with your daughter's work on that gingerbread house! She did a fantastic job!
Beautiful home... Thank you for sharing..
Love your beautiful Jesus tree - what a lovely idea! Your daughter did an amazing job with that gingerbread house! I've never been able to make one!

I love that your tree has a story. Isn't it nice to have help decorating? My kids like to help for 5 minutes before they get distracted by something else. Thanks for the tour and for stopping by my house.
First of all I wanted to say thanks for leaving a sweet comment on my blog. It's always fun to know someone is checking out the blog! Secondy, I love the idea of a Jesus tree! Your house looks lovely all decked out for Christmas!

Thanks for commenting on my blog. Your home is lovely, too. And your daughter did a fabulous job on her gingerbread house. My oldest two decorated g'bread houses, also, except my toddler keeps trying to eat the candy off of them. In fact, I found him yesterday in a corner eating the chimney from one of them!!!
Love, Love, LOVE your Jesus Tree! So cool! I may have to borrow this idea from you next Christmas. The Gingerbread House is very pretty. I've always wanted to make one with my daughters. That'll be on next years agenda, too.
Thanks for the tour! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. God Bless!
Hi Bonita,
